A 38-year-old resident of Semey, was relaxing in one of the cafes of the city with his girl friends. After the company received the invoice, a dispute arose between them about who would pay for it. The verbal conflict soon escalated into a fight, during which the man inflicted bodily injuries on one of the girls.
The court found him guilty and sentenced him to 60 hours of community service.
To serve his sentence, the convict was registered with the probation service of the Auezovsky district of Semey. Probation officers conducted a preventive conversation with him, explained the procedure and conditions for serving his sentence, and warned him about responsibility for evading his execution.
For community service, the man was sent to one of the city's security agencies. To date, he has already worked 20 of the 60 hours appointed by the court.
- Community service allows a convicted person to be punished without isolation from society, while realizing the consequences of his act. Probation officers monitor the execution of sentences and carry out preventive work with convicts so that such cases do not happen again," said Zhanar Nakisheva, head of the Department of Probation in the Auezovsky district of Semey.
