New York, September 24, 2026 – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi participated in the annual Coordination Meeting of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The meeting featured an exchange of views on pressing issues on the international and regional agenda. Particular attention was paid to developments in the Middle East and their humanitarian consequences.
In his remarks, the Foreign Minister reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to the principles of the peaceful settlement of international disputes and expressed support for the mediation efforts of a number of OIC Member States aimed at bringing the escalation in the Middle East to an early end, ensuring sustainable peace, and normalizing the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
In addition, the speech highlighted the relevance of Kazakhstan’s initiatives to establish the “OIC-15” Group aimed at expanding cooperation among the most technologically and scientifically advanced states of the Islamic world, as well as the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), headquartered in Astana.
