As of December 21, 2024, the institution of the Microfinance Ombudsman has been established to handle disputes between individuals and microfinance organizations. This includes issues related to overdue microloan repayments and disputes over contracts transferred to collection agencies.
The decision of the Microfinance Ombudsman is binding on the microfinance organization and the person to whom the right (claim) under the microloan agreement with the individual borrower has been assigned - provided the decision is accepted by the individual borrower.
Before contacting the Microfinance Ombudsman, the borrower must first contact their creditor.
The Ombudsman does not consider appeals that are already under court review and/or for which a court ruling has entered into legal force, nor does the Ombudsman consider repeated appeals that do not present new case circumstances.
The current Microfinance Ombudsman is Nazgul Karasovna Yesteyusizova.
