What is the Insurance Payments Guarantee Fund?
JSC "Insurance Payments Guarantee Fund" (the Fund) is a non-profit organization established in 2003.
The Fund is the sole organization in the Republic of Kazakhstan that guarantees insurance payments to policyholders (insured persons, beneficiaries) in the event of the compulsory liquidation of an insurance company.
The Fund’s shareholders are insurance companies.
The Fund’s activities are regulated by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Insurance Payments Guarantee Fund," regulatory legal acts, and the Fund’s internal documents.
Insurance companies pay contributions to the Fund, which form the guarantee reserves. The guarantee reserve is intended exclusively for making payments to policyholders of an insurance company undergoing compulsory liquidation, as well as for portfolio transfers.
The Fund also ensures the protection of the rights and legal interests of individuals whose life or health was harmed by another person in a traffic accident, in cases where the liable party is not identified or has fled the scene of the accident.
