Who is involved in trapping and destroying stray dogs and cats?
In accordance with Appendix 1 of the decision of the Maslikhat dated October 30, 2020, No. 485-VI “On Approval of the Rules for Keeping and Walking Dogs and Cats, the Rules for Trapping and Exterminating Stray Dogs and Cats in settlements of the Atyrau region”, organizes the Department of Veterinary of the Atyrau region, carries out veterinary stations Atyrau city and districts:
1. Dogs and cats that are in public places without accompanying persons are considered neglected and are subject to capture and destruction.
2. Dogs and cats located in public places (streets, courtyards, parks and other places), except for those left on a leash by their owners, are considered neglected and are subject to capture by special services for catching stray dogs and cats and collecting animal corpses.
3. Trapping and destruction of stray dogs and cats is organized and carried out in accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
4. Organization and carrying out of work on trapping and extermination of stray dogs and cats is carried out in compliance with silence, humanity, rights and interests of residents living in the territory where this work is carried out. Adults who are not registered in narcological or neuropsychiatric dispensaries are allowed to work on trapping and destroying stray dogs and cats.
