Akimat of Atyrau region
We see in the media that dredging is underway in the Atyrau region along the Ural and Kigach rivers. What results are expected from this work and will it be continued?
Today, the problem of water is of great strategic, socio-economic importance for the inhabitants of the Atyrau region.
In particular, low spring floods on the Ural and Kigach rivers and the absence of canals adversely affect the development of fisheries.
In this regard, at the request of the Department of Fisheries, in order to increase the volume of fish catch in the Ural and Kigach rivers, ensure the free movement of fish, preserve fish stocks and create favorable conditions for the life of fish, deepening work is underway (deepening of the Ural River 23.509 km and construction 16.9 km of the new canal, 150.7 km on the Kigach River). The work is scheduled to be completed this year.
Also, in the near future, in order to continue these works, it is planned to dredging canals 225.8 of the Kigach River and additionally 33.8 of the Ural River, today, at the request of the Regional Construction Department, design estimates are being developed with Stroytech LLP.
