On June 9, 2026, the National Strategy for Large-Scale Digitalization and the Widespread Deployment of Artificial Intelligence Technologies,«Digital Qazaqstan»,until2029 was approved by Decree No. 1311 of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Strategy defines the goals, objectives, and priorities of the country's digital transformation. It covers three key areas: digitalization in the interests of citizens, business and economic development, and improving the functioning of the government apparatus. Key priorities include the deployment of artificial intelligence across major sectors, the development of digital infrastructure, workforce training, and the transition to data-driven governance.
Overall coordination of the Strategy's implementation is carried out by theMinistry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in cooperation with relevant government bodies and organizations.
Particular attention is given to keeping strategic approaches up to date. Section 3.3 of the Strategy provides for the establishment of a mechanism at Alem.AI for the systematic integration of global best practices into the national artificial intelligence ecosystem.
This mechanism involves regular analysis of international AI development strategies, technological trends, regulatory approaches, and practices in applying AI across the economy and public administration. The findings will be used to update national policy, adjust strategic priorities, and develop new initiatives.
During the implementation of«Digital Qazaqstan», periodic assessments are planned to ensure that its provisions remain relevant in light of the results achieved, new technological opportunities, and the country's evolving needs. Where necessary, amendments to the Strategy will be made in accordance with established procedures, while its current version and information on implementation will be made publicly available.
The updating process will take into account new instructions issued by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, objectives set out in the Head of State's Addresses to the Nation, as well as global trends in digitalization and artificial intelligence.
This approach will help maintain consistency in pursuing long-term objectives while ensuring that the instruments used to achieve them can be adapted promptly to changes in the technological environment.
