Institution of minimum security OV-156/22 DUIS for East Kazakhstan Region

The institution of minimum security is one of the important institutions of the penitentiary system of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter - the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan), which has a certain specificity. In institutions of minimal security, as a rule, those who have firmly embarked on the path of correction, transferred from closed-type penal institutions, serve their sentences (approx. author) (paragraph 2 of part 1 of art. 96 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan), sentenced to imprisonment for crimes committed by negligence, and persons convicted for the first time for committing an intentional crime to imprisonment for up to one year, serving sentences in colonies, settlements, as well as convicts transferred from medium and maximum security institutions in accordance with part one of Article 96 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan [1].

Convicts are sent to minimum security institutions, and they are placed in other types of penal institutions, thereby this means that convicts in a colony-settlement serve their sentences voluntarily.
