Department of investigation

Department of investigation is a structural division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which ensures the investigation, detection and disclosure of crimes in the internal affairs agencies and coordinates the investigation, inquiry and military investigation units.

The Investigation Department consists of:

1) Managements;

2) Management of zone control and organization of preliminary investigation;

3) Department of analytical work of preliminary investigation;

4) The department of organization of work of the inquiry;

5) Control and methodical management;

6) Office of investigation of organized crime cases;

7) The department for investigation of particularly dangerous crimes;

8) The department for the investigation of serious and property crimes;

9) The office for the investigation of crimes related to extremism and illicit drug trafficking;

10) Military investigation department.

Tasks:

1) organizational and methodological management and area control of investigation, inquiry and military investigation units, in order to ensure comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of crimes under the jurisdiction of internal affairs agencies;

2) information and analytical support of investigation, inquiry and military investigation units;

3) timely denunciation and prosecution of the perpetrators of crimes, ensuring the inescapability of punishment for the committed crimes;

4) prevention, detection, suppression and disclosure of military crimes;

5) protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, organizations and the state against criminal attacks during the investigation of criminal cases;

6) international cooperation in criminal proceedings;

7) prevention of crimes;

8) studying, generalization and introduction in practice of law-enforcement bodies of positive domestic and foreign experience of identification, disclosure and investigation of crimes.
