The Child Rights Protection and Psychological Support Department of the Child Rights Protection Office of the City of Almaty

Main Functions and Objectives of the Department:

• Implementation and monitoring of a unified state policy in the field of child rights protection in the territory of the city of Almaty;

• Organization of work on the prevention of offenses, neglect, homelessness, and social orphanhood among minors;

• Coordination of measures for the prevention of violence, bullying (harassment), and suicidal behavior among children;

• Organization of assistance and support for minors affected by violence or abuse;

• Prompt response and coordination of work on verifying facts of violations of children's rights received through the Unified State Contact Center "111" on family, women, and child rights protection issues;

• Interaction with the Human Rights Ombudsman, the Child Rights Ombudsman, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other interested state bodies;

• Monitoring of the activities of juvenile adaptation centers (JACs) and child support centers;

• Ensuring the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of minors, as well as participation in their social rehabilitation (in terms of providing special social services);

• Protection of children from information harmful to their health and comprehensive development;

• Quality and timely processing of appeals from individuals and legal entities in the information system "e-Otinish" in accordance with the Administrative Procedure and Procedural Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

• Implementation, within the scope of competence, of activities to preserve and strengthen in society a value system reflecting intolerance to corruption, and prevention of corruption risks in the Department.
