Functions of the Department

Оrganizational and methodological management of medical and preventive organizations of obstetric and gynecological and pediatric profiles;

Development of the maternity and child protection section in the integrated plan of the regional health department and regional programs;

Develops, together with the DSSEN, an action plan aimed at reducing and eliminating infectious diseases, including intrauterine and hospital-acquired infections, reducing the overall morbidity and organizes monitoring for the timely and complete implementation of the measures provided for in the plan.

Analysis of the main performance indicators of medical organizations of obstetric-gynecological and pediatric profiles, with the subsequent development of measures to improve the quality of medical care for patients in outpatient and inpatient organizations that fulfill the state order.

Provision of periodic reports to the Ministry of Health, the office of the Akim of the region and other departments.

Promote the introduction of new achievements in science and technology in the field of maternal and child health.

Organization of visits of specialists to the districts of the region and regional organizations to monitor the activities and provide practical and organizational and methodological assistance.

Study, generalization and promotion of best practices of LPO work.

Monitoring the implementation of state and regional programs.

Cooperation with NGOs on prevention and promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

Participation in the development of joint plans on prevention and rehabilitation activities, intersectoral cooperation with the Departments of Education, Labor and Social Protection of the Population,and Defense.

Promote professional training of medical personnel by organizing meetings of societies of obstetricians and gynecologists and pediatricians, conferences, seminars.

Preparation of materials and draft resolutions of colleges, medical and preventive councils on the protection of motherhood and childhood.

Timely brings to the attention of specialists orders, instructions, instructive and methodological instructions of higher-level organizations and ensure control over timely execution.

Participation in consultations to make decisions on the provision of medical care to pregnant women, women in labor and women in labor who are threatened by maternal mortality.
