    The Guardianship and Custody Department of the Child Rights Protection Office of the City of Almaty

    Main Functions of the Department:

    1. Implementation of state policy in the field of protecting the rights and legitimate interests of children;

    2. Coordination of ensuring children's rights, prevention and early detection of violations of their rights, and taking measures to protect children's rights; exercise of state functions of guardianship and custody with respect to minors;

    3. Organization of work on the establishment, termination, and support of guardianship, custody, foster care (patronage), foster families, and guest families;

    4. Monitoring and assessment of the situation of children through regular visits to children under guardianship (custody), in foster care (patronage), in foster families, and in professional foster families, at least once every six months, for the purpose of assessing their condition and providing necessary assistance;

    5. Monitoring of living conditions, upbringing, and maintenance of children under guardianship, custody, and in institutions for orphans;

    6. Protection of property and personal non-property rights of minors;

    7. Review of citizens' appeals on matters of guardianship and custody;

    8. Preparation of conclusions, permits, consents, and other documents within the Department's competence;

    9. Interaction with courts, educational authorities, healthcare institutions, social protection bodies, law enforcement agencies, and other organizations on matters of protecting children's rights;

    10. Organization of preventive work to prevent violations of children's rights and family dysfunction;

    11. Supervision of compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of guardianship and custody;

    12. Performance of other functions provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
