Department of Archives

Tasks of the Department:

1. Organize and ensure the storage, compilation, registration, and use of documents of the national archival fund of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

2. Provide society with access to documents of local executive and administrative bodies that are held in the state archives of the region;

3. Participate in joint work with the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter – CSA RK), other state archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scientific and cultural institutions, universities, government bodies, and other interested organizations in preparing and publishing collections of documents, booklets, brochures, and compilations on the history of Akmola Region and the Republic of Kazakhstan as a whole;

4. Provide organizational, methodological, and practical assistance to archival institutions in the region;

5. Organize work on the formation, registration, and use of the reference and information fund (RIF);

6. Study, summarize, and disseminate advanced domestic and international practices in document storage, registration, and use, and implement automated technologies in the department’s work.
