On September 4, 2026, to mark the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan and the birthday of the "Teacher of the Nation," Akhmet Baitursynov, the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized a roundtable meeting. The event brought together Committee staff and Dauletkerey Kapuly—an *aitys* poet, member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan, laureate of the "Daryn" State Youth Prize and the "Alash" International Literary Prize, and Honored Worker of Kazakhstan. Round-table guest Dauletkerey Kapuly shared profound reflections on the role, official position, and scholarly legacy of the "Teacher of the Nation," Akhmet Baitursynov, within the history of Kazakhstan. During the event, staff members recited poems dedicated to the theme of language and performed *kui* (traditional instrumental pieces). Additionally, the guest of honor, Dauletkerey Kapuly, delighted the audience by reading excerpts from his own works. Questions from the audience were met with detailed and thoughtful responses.
On September 3, 2026, a meeting was held in Almaty between representatives of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan and representatives of microfinance organizations, debt collection agencies, and territorial state revenue authorities. The participants discussed issues related to cooperation between creditors and participants in bankruptcy proceedings, the timely and accurate provision of information by financial organizations on borrowers’ payments, monitoring the financial condition of citizens after they have been declared bankrupt, as well as compliance with the established deadlines for submitting creditors’ claims. The meeting also addressed further digitalization of judicial bankruptcy and solvency restoration procedures. Following the meeting, the participants exchanged proposals aimed at addressing practical issues and further improving cooperation among participants in bankruptcy proceedings.
On August 14, 2026, a sports competition was held at the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan to mark the 12th anniversary of the establishment of the state revenue authorities. Around 400 employees of the State Revenue Committee and the territorial State Revenue Departments took part in the sporting event. The opening ceremony of the Spartakiad was attended by Olympic champion and public figure Serik Sapiev, who delivered a welcoming speech and wished the participants successful performances, team spirit, and new sporting victories. Kazakhstani footballer Kuat Islambek—captain of the club Zhenis and a player for the Kazakhstan national team—was also present at the opening. Zhandos Duysembiev, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, also delivered welcoming remarks. He congratulated the staff on the 12th anniversary of the establishment of the state revenue authorities and highlighted the importance of such events in strengthening team spirit, fostering communication, and building a unified team. "Employees from all regions of the country have gathered here today. This is a great opportunity not only to demonstrate a competitive spirit but also to feel like a united team. Over the past 12 years, state revenue authorities have come a long way, and today we face new challenges," noted Zhandos Duysembiev. The primary goal of the Spartakiad is to promote physical culture and sports within the State Revenue Committee system, encourage a healthy lifestyle, strengthen teamwork, and foster team cohesion. Competitions were held in six disciplines: football, chess, volleyball, table tennis, Counter-Strike, and Dota. From August 5 to 7, 2026, a working meeting of representatives of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the International Trade Centre was held in Almaty. During the visit, the processes and mechanisms for implementing the «Seamless Transit» pilot project between the two countries were discussed. The «Seamless Transit» pilot project provides for the automatic conversion of export and transit declarations of partner countries into advance information, followed by their conversion into a transit declaration to accelerate customs declaration of goods and vehicles in partner countries. The implementation of the “Seamless Transit” pilot project will reduce and simplify the passage of goods across the customs border. Also, on August 7, 2026, a delegation of the Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the Altynkol-Zhol customs post of the Department of State Revenues in the Zhetisu Region. During the visit, colleagues from the neighboring country familiarized themselves with the passage of goods across the border, from entry and completion of all procedures, including control by related services, to exit, with a fully automated process and without the participation of officials of the state revenue authorities in the customs declaration of container trains proceeding through transit to third countries along the routes «Altynkol – Brest-Severny», «Altynkol – Saryagash», and «Altynkol – Kuryk». The parties agreed to hold consultations on an ongoing basis for the implementation of the “Seamless Transit” pilot project.
From 20 to 23 July 2026 , Astana is hosting the international seminar “Strategic Trade Control Enforcement (STCE)” , organized by the World Customs Organization (WCO) with the support of the U.S. Department of State’s Export Control and Border Security (EXBS) Program. The seminar brings together officials from the territorial divisions of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as representatives of the Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The seminar is led by Adam Vas , representing the World Customs Organization, and Gunay Yunusova-Hamidzada , representing the Customs Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan. As part of the event, Kairat Jumagulov , Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, met with Christopher Tafe, Manager of the Export Control and Border Security (EXBS) Program. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of export control, the further development of electronic cargo data exchange under the FECDEP program, and the implementation of modern technologies in customs administration. The seminar program is aimed at enhancing the professional capacity of customs officials. Participants are studying modern risk assessment methodologies, the identification of dual-use goods, the application of non-tariff regulatory measures, and international best practices in strategic trade control. The seminar demonstrates Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening an effective export control system and expanding international cooperation. The knowledge and practical experience gained during the event will contribute to the further improvement of customs administration and enhance the effectiveness of controls over the movement of strategic goods.
On July 8, 2026, during a working visit, Zhandos Duysembiyev, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with Nuralkhan Kusherov, Akim of the Turkistan Region, visited the Zhibek Zholy checkpoint in the Saryagash District. There, they inspected the progress of the large-scale reconstruction of the largest passenger vehicle checkpoint on the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan section of the EAEU external border. The inspection covered the current stage of project implementation, the pace of construction work, and the readiness of the facility, which is scheduled to be commissioned in September 2026. The border crossing point currently undergoing modernization will be equipped with modern, high-tech systems for conducting customs and border control. Construction is currently nearing completion on two separate new passenger terminals—designated for "export" and "import" traffic—designed in accordance with international standards. Work is also underway to install a large, unified canopy for the border and customs inspection of buses and passenger vehicles, as well as video surveillance systems. A workforce of 270 is operating at the site in a continuous two-shift schedule. The design capacity of the Zhibek Zholy border crossing point currently under modernization is 70,000 individuals, 2,000 passenger vehicles, and 200 buses per day. Previously, the design capacity of the old crossing point was 17,000 individuals, 400 passenger vehicles, and 20 buses per day. Following the site inspection and the meeting held on-site—attended by representatives of design and technical supervision—instructions were issued to ensure oversight of construction schedules and quality, and to take all necessary measures to complete the project within the established timeframes.
