The Department of Smart Region
General information
The Department of Smart Region consists of the following divisions:
- Smart City Devision
The Smart City Devision implements the following key areas of activity:
- development and updating, as necessary, a reference standard for smart cities;
- coordination of the work of local executive bodies of the regions, the cities of Astana, Almaty and Shymkent on the implementation of projects within the framework of digitalization of the regions;
- development within the competence of the Department and coordination with interested government agencies of draft regulatory legal acts in the supervised areas;
- organization of work on the formation of a rating of «Smart cities» among the regions;
- coordination of the work of the regions on the implementation of initiatives in the field of «Smart Cities»;
- preparation of analytical materials, references, draft decisions and presentations for meetings of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In addition, employees of the Department of Smart Region participate in the activities of the working groups of the Mazhilis and the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as other government agencies in the preparation of draft legislative acts in their areas of competence.
The Department also reviews applications from individuals and legal entities, provides feedback and advice on issues within its competence.
