Sembayev Yerbolat

He was born on December 18, 1964 in the Abai region.

He graduated from the Kazakh National Technical University (1987, Almaty) and the Higher School of Enrico Mattei (1996, Milan).

Married with two children.

He has been working at the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan since 1998 and held various positions in the Department of Multilateral Cooperation, the Department of OSCE and the Department of Europe.

In 2001-2009, he worked as First Secretary, Counsellor and Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Italian Republic.

In 2013-2015, he headed the Department of Multilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and was responsible for cooperation with international organizations, multilateral structures and secretariats of international treaties.

In 2016-2017, he was appointed as an Ambassador at Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction.

From January 2018 to February 2021, Mr. Yerbolat Sembayev worked as Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Belgium and Deputy Head of Mission of Kazakhstan in the European Union.

On 26 February 2021 he was appointed as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Italian Republic. At the same time, Mr. Yerbolat Sembayev was appointed as a Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the World Food Programme (WFP) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

On October 21, 2021 by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev he was appointed as a non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Malta, the Republic of San Marino concurrently.

Has the a diplomatic rank of an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
