Zdorovets Maxim Vladimirovich

Zdorovets Maxim Vladimirovich (born 8 June 1984, Kazakhstan) – Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, specialist in condensed matter physics, radiation technologies, and nuclear science.
He graduated from M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan State University with a degree in Physics and Informatics (2005). He also completed a Master’s degree at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI in Nuclear Power Engineering and Thermal Physics.

From 2005 to 2008, he pursued postgraduate studies at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in the specialty 01.04.07 – Condensed Matter Physics.

In 2010, he defended his Candidate (PhD-equivalent) dissertation.

Scientific activity
His main research areas include track membrane physics, radiation-induced processes in materials, development of functional membrane systems for energy, environmental protection, and water treatment, as well as the application of nuclear-physical methods in materials science and industry.
His scientific results have both fundamental and applied significance and are aimed at creating new materials with tailored properties and implementing radiation technologies in industry.
He has established and continues to develop a scientific field in track membranes and radiation materials science using the DC-60 accelerator. Under his leadership, scientific and technical programs and international projects have been implemented, including those with the participation of Brookhaven National Laboratory and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), focused on developing innovative membrane technologies and expanding the use of nuclear-physical methods in industry.
He is the author of more than 300 scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals. He actively contributes to the development of international scientific cooperation and the integration of Kazakhstani science into the global scientific community. Under his supervision, young specialists are trained and a scientific school in radiation technologies and functional materials is being formed.

2006 – began his career at the Institute of Physics and High Technologies at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
2007–2009 – Leading Specialist at the Space Monitoring Center of the National Center for Space Research and Technologies.
2009–2025 – worked at the Institute of Nuclear Physics as Junior Researcher and later Director of the Astana Branch (2010–2025).
Since 2025 – Senior Researcher at the engineering-profile laboratory of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
Public and scientific-organizational activities
2017–2021 – Chairman of the National Scientific Council for the priority area “Energy and Mechanical Engineering”.
2017–2020 – Member of the Council on Youth Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2017–2022 – Member of the Scientific Council of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.
2023–2025 – Member of the National Council on Science and Technology under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the International Science and Technology Center.
