Biography
Ms. Anel Bakytbekkyzy joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in November 2004 and was appointed to various positions in Diplomatic Missions in India and Singapore.
Anel Bakytbekkyzy was the first female Deputy Executive Director of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) for the period 2014-2019.
Anel Bakytbekkyzy most recently served as the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations in New York. She was the focal point at the mission for the UN-EU Spotlight Initiative and Generation Equality Forum. She is at the same time versatile in the fields of Sustainable Development, Youth and other UN related issues.
She graduated from the Ablai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages in International Law and earned her Doctorate in Political Sciences from Al-Farabi State University. She is also a graduate of the Women’s Leadership Program at Yale School of Management.
