
In Almaty, within the framework of the Kazakhstan-Korea Business Forum, agreements were reached on the implementation of a joint investment project for the production of stewed meat.
The production workshop will be built in Kazakhstan. The project will be implemented from the Kazakh side bySamsar Investment. The investment volume from both sides will amount to 1.3 million US dollars.The corresponding agreement was reached within the framework of the Kazakhstan-Korea Business Forum held in Almaty.
In addition, agreements were reached on the export from Kazakhstan to the Republic ofKorea of 1 thousand tons of beef worth 13 million US dollars. Also, the Kazakh company Samsar Investment agreed on the export of 3 thousand tons of refined sunflower oil to South Korea monthly.Overall, following the results of the business forum, which was attended by more than200 representatives of business circles from both countries, commercial documents were signed for a total amount of 54.8 million US dollars.The Korea Importers Association (KOIMA), founded in South Korea 55 years ago, participated in the Kazakhstan-Korea Business Forum. The Korean side arrived in Almaty with a large-scale business delegation numbering about100 company representatives.The meeting became a continuation of successful cooperation initiated in June of this year in Seoul within the framework of the Korea Import Expo 2026 exhibition. 15 Kazakh companies representing the agricultural and food sector participated in the event. The exhibition demonstrated the high interest of Korean business in the products of Kazakh manufacturers.

Trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and South Korea demonstrates sustainable growth dynamics. By the end of 2025, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to 3.17 billion US dollars, increasing by 1.3% compared to 2024, when this indicator was 3.13 billion US dollars. For January–June 2026, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea reached 1.3 billion US dollars. At the same time, the export of Kazakh products to Korea grew by 17.2%.
«The Republic of Korea is an important trade and economic partner of Kazakhstan. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, our countries have consistently developed cooperation based on mutual trust and partnership. It is important for us not only to increase trade volumes but also to expand its structure by increasing the export of finished products and goods with high added value», noted Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Aidar Abildabekov, speaking at the business forum.
The conclusion of the official part of the business forum was an exhibition of Kazakh products, and a tasting dinner with dishes from domestic meat products was organized for the Korean business delegation. In particular, the company Terra from Merke presented beef and lamb steaks.The exhibition also featured products from large Kazakh companies, including Arba Wine, "Gold Product", "Almaty Product", Lemonadoff, Elimay Qymyz, "Tәp-tәtti", "Burnenskaya Dairy Company", "Vkus Blagosti", "Merke Et", Terra, Fresh Milk, Honey 100%, "Bayan-Sulu", Alans, and others.
