
Algiers, August 5, 2026 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Algeria, Anuarbek Akhmetov, met with the Wali of Blida Province, Djamel Eddine Hashas. During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas for the development of bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic and regional spheres.
During the meeting, the Kazakh diplomat presented the political and socio-economic reforms being implemented in Kazakhstan by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He also spoke about the entry into force of the new Constitution, as well as the preparations for the upcoming Qurultay (Parliament) elections. Particular attention was paid to opportunities for expanding cooperation between the regions of Kazakhstan and the Wilaya of Blida.
The Wali highly appreciated the results of the transformations being carried out in Kazakhstan and expressed his readiness to facilitate the establishment of direct contacts between the business communities and industrial enterprises of the two countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening bilateral relations and agreed to maintain regular dialogue aimed at implementing mutually beneficial projects at the regional level.
The Wilaya of Blida is one of the most economically developed regions of Algeria. It is located in the central part of the country, approximately 50 km south of the capital. The population of Blida Wilaya exceeds 1.2 million inhabitants. The presence of industrial zones and its proximity to the capital make the region attractive for investment and the establishment of new production facilities.
