Ohrid, August 4, 2026 – Kazakh Ambassador to North Macedonia Satybalda Burshakov visited Ohrid.
During the meeting with the Mayor of the city, Kirill Petsakov, the possibilities of developing cooperation were discussed, with a special focus on cultural exchange and tourism development.
At the meeting, Ambassador Burshakov introduced the newly appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ohrid, Gjorgje Vojnovic, to the head of the region and solemnly presented him with a Consular patent.
Also, Burshakov acquainted the mayor with the political and socio-economic development of our country, as well as the prospects for expanding Kazakh-Macedonian cooperation.
Petsakov spoke about the activities of the municipality, its history, the economic potential of the region, and the 66th traditional Ohrid Summer Cultural Festival, which takes place in July and August this year.
The parties noted that the opening of the office of the Honorary Consul in Ohrid would give impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation, especially the expansion of economic and cultural ties.
At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador thanked the mayor for the warm welcome and presented a commemorative book «National customs and traditions of the Kazakhs».
