    On the Meeting of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan with the Ambassador of Burundi to Kenya

    Nairobi, 31 July 2026 — The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Kenya, Barlybay Sadykov, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Burundi to the Republic of Kenya, Evelyne Habonimana.

    During the conversation, it was noted that Burundi currently holds the Chairmanship of the African Union. In light of the fact that the African Union has declared 2026 the year of “Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goals of Agenda 2063,” this lends additional significance to the development of not only bilateral but also multilateral cooperation in this field.

    In this context, the parties devoted particular attention to discussing Kazakhstan’s initiative to establish an International Water Organization under the auspices of the United Nations.

    Following the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen friendly ties and maintain regular dialogue on issues of mutual interest.
