A groundbreaking ceremony was held in Astana to mark the start of construction of a modern logistics hub by Focus Developments, which will serve as the distribution center for the international retail chain Fix Price. The new facility will be located in the Ondiris residential area.
"The construction of a modern distribution center for the international retail chain Fix Price marks an important milestone in the development of Kazakhstan's logistics infrastructure. The project will improve the efficiency of product distribution, accelerate cargo flows, and further strengthen Astana's position as one of Central Asia's key logistics hubs. The city administration will provide comprehensive support throughout the project's implementation, ensuring favorable conditions for the investor and assistance at every stage," said Khalel Akimzhanov, Head of the Astana City Department of Investments and Entrepreneurship Development.
The distribution center will cover a total area of 35,000 square meters and is expected to create approximately 200 new jobs. The facility will be developed under a built-to-suit (BTS) model, allowing the complex to be specifically designed to meet the company's operational requirements. Its location in the Ondiris residential area will help optimize transportation costs while providing access to the workforce needed for efficient operations.
Alexey Yermakov, Director of Fix Price Kazakhstan, emphasized that Kazakhstan remains one of the company's priority markets.
"Kazakhstan is one of the key markets for the Fix Price retail chain. The company has been operating in the country since 2016. According to the analytical agency INFOLine, Fix Price consistently ranks among Kazakhstan's fastest-growing retail chains, expanding its store network at a faster pace than other retailers. As of the end of the first quarter of 2026, the network comprised 399 stores, representing a 14% increase compared to the previous year. Today, Fix Price stores in Kazakhstan offer customers modern, convenient shopping environments with a wide assortment of high-quality, everyday products," he said.
