The staff of the State Treasury Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in an explanatory seminar on the prevention of religious extremism and compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The speakers were:
- Kalabaeva Mirgul Satbaevna - chief expert of the Office for Coordination of Information and Explanatory Work of the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- Berikbaev Elnar - Head of the Strategic Analysis Department of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the speakers presented a meaningful explanatory report aimed at increasing the legal and religious literacy of civil servants.
Particular attention was paid to countering extremist ideologies, the risks of involvement in destructive religious movements, as well as the formation of stable immunity to such threats. The participants were explained in detail the norms of legislation, including the provisions of article 174 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan regarding incitement to social, national and religious hatred.
Practical recommendations were also given on correct behavior in professional and everyday activities: compliance with the principles of secularism, preventing the spread of radical ideas, attentive attitude to information of a religious nature and compliance with the requirements of the law.
