Brasilia, July 7, 2026 - At the invitation of the National Confederation of Municipalities of Brazil (CNM), the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil, Bolat Nussupov, attended the annual meeting of Brazil’s regions as a guest of honor.
In his address, Ambassador Bolat Nussupov highlighted the key milestones in Kazakhstan–Brazil relations, ongoing joint projects, the priorities of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, and the importance of strengthening regional partnerships in light of Brazil’s federal system of government.
In this context, he drew attention to the establishment of direct partnerships between the regions of the two countries: the State of Bahia and the Karaganda Region (2022), the State of Rio Grande do Sul and the Almaty Region (2024), and the State of Santa Catarina and the East Kazakhstan Region (2025). These partnerships play an important role in expanding bilateral cooperation across a wide range of sectors.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan also informed forum participants about the country’s ongoing large-scale political reforms, including the entry into force of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan on July 1, 2026, the forthcoming elections to the unicameral Kurultai, and the formation of the Kazakhstan People’s Council. He emphasized that these developments would mark an important milestone in the country’s political evolution and signify the completion of the comprehensive modernization of its key state institutions.
During the event, Bolat Nussupov expressed his gratitude to CNM President Mr. Paulo Ziulkoski for the successful and friendly cooperation between the Embassy and the Confederation and presented him with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Embassy of Kazakhstan in recognition of his contribution to strengthening and expanding Kazakhstan–Brazil bilateral relations.
