From Forest Conservation to Aral Sea Conservation: Kazakhstan and the United States Join Forces

U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan Julie Stufft congratulated forestry workers on their professional holiday, highlighting the importance of their work in protecting the country’s natural environment and forest resources.

A notable example of environmental cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United States is the pilot “Oasis” project, implemented on the dried-up bed of the Aral Sea with the U.S. support.

As part of the project, 432,500 saxaul seedlings were planted. Studies were also conducted to improve seedling survival rates, explore modern planting techniques, and restore vegetation cover.

These efforts will help curb the movement of sand, restore vegetation, and improve the environmental situation in the region.

Our shared goal is to protect nature and preserve a greener world for future generations!
