Metlen Energy & Metals Plans to Establish Metallurgical Waste Processing Operations in Kazakhstan

    Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ardak Zebeshev met with a delegation from the Greek industrial group Metlen Energy & Metals. The parties discussed progress on the company’s project to process metallurgical waste and recover copper, zinc, nickel, cobalt and other valuable metals.

    The delegation included Alexandros Kontouzoglou, Commercial Director of M Critical & Rare Metals, and Thomas Lamnidis, Legal Counsel at Metlen Energy & Metals and Co-Chair of the Kazakhstan–Greece Business Council.

    “The company’s plans to process metallurgical waste align with the Government’s priorities in industrial waste recycling, resource efficiency and the development of higher value-added production. We stand ready to support the further advancement of the project and facilitate cooperation with the relevant ministries, regional administrations and Kazakh companies,” Ardak Zebeshev said.

    The parties discussed a phased approach to project implementation, logistics arrangements and available state support measures. JSC “NC “KAZAKH INVEST” stands ready to support the project at all stages of its implementation.

    Ardak Zebeshev invited the Metlen delegation to participate in the Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable (KGIR), which will take place on 22 October in Shymkent.
