Prague, 6 October 2026 - A delegation of the Association of Legal Entities “Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry” ( Association), together with representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Czech Republic, took part in the 67th International Engineering Fair (MSV), held in Brno from 6 to 9 October.

The participation of the Kazakhstani delegation provided an important opportunity to explore modern technologies and industrial solutions showcased by leading Czech and international companies, as well as to assess prospects for expanding cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic in mechanical engineering, industrial cooperation and technology transfer.

MSV is the largest industrial exhibition in the Czech Republic and one of the leading mechanical engineering events in Central Europe. Traditionally, it covers a broad range of industries, from machine-tool manufacturing, metalworking and industrial automation to robotics, manufacturing digitalisation and other advanced technologies.

In 2026, the fair brings together 1,379 companies from 39 countries, reaffirming its status as a major international platform for establishing business contacts, showcasing innovative solutions and developing new industrial partnerships. The active participation of representatives from other Central Asian countries, including Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, is also noteworthy.

The official opening ceremony of the 67th MSV was attended by Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Miloš Vystrčil, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček, as well as representatives of Czech businesses and regional authorities.

In their addresses, Czech leaders underscored the strategic importance of industry to the national economy and the need to further strengthen its competitiveness. Prime Minister Andrej Babiš noted that mechanical engineering remains one of the pillars of the Czech economy while undergoing profound technological transformation driven by robotics, automation, artificial intelligence and digital technologies.

Senate President Miloš Vystrčil highlighted the need for coordinated efforts by the government, businesses and other stakeholders to maintain the competitiveness of Czech industry. First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček, in turn, pointed to positive economic trends and the prospects for further industrial development in the Czech Republic.

During their visit to the fair, representatives of the Union and the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan explored the exhibits of leading Czech and international companies, including solutions in industrial automation, robotics, manufacturing digitalisation, machine-tool production and advanced manufacturing technologies. The Union’s delegation paid particular attention to solutions that could be applied by Kazakhstan’s mechanical engineering enterprises.

Czech expertise and technologies offer considerable potential in the context of Kazakhstan’s ambitious efforts to modernise its industrial base, develop the manufacturing sector and increase the share of products with high added value. The Union views Czech companies as potential partners for Kazakhstani mechanical engineering enterprises in technological upgrading and the localisation of production.

Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic enjoy stable trade and economic relations and have considerable scope to expand industrial cooperation further. Mechanical engineering could become a promising area of bilateral partnership, including through the establishment of joint production facilities, technology localisation, the development of industrial supply chains, the exchange of engineering expertise and the attraction of investment.

Kazakhstan’s participation in the International Engineering Fair in Brno helps strengthen direct contacts between business communities in the two countries and creates additional opportunities to identify concrete industrial cooperation projects.

The Union will share the outcomes of the delegation’s visit with its member enterprises, facilitate their contacts with Czech manufacturers and remain open to dialogue with Czech companies interested in establishing long-term partnerships with Kazakhstani mechanical engineering businesses.

The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Czech Republic will continue to support contacts between Kazakhstani and Czech enterprises and promote mutually beneficial projects in industry and mechanical engineering.
