An environmental quest for schoolchildren and young people took place at Tauelsizdik Square in the Fedorovsky District, held as part of the "Dostyk Kerueni" district festival and the "Taza Qazaqstan" national environmental campaign.
The event aimed to foster an environmental mindset, encourage a responsible attitude toward the environment, and engage the younger generation in socially beneficial activities.
Participants navigated a route featuring various themed stations. At each stop, they encountered environmental trivia, puzzles, tasks testing attention and logic, and challenges requiring teamwork.
The quest incorporated a modern approach by utilizing digital technology; participants scanned QR codes with their smartphones to proceed to the next stations, determining their own route as they went.
Organizers placed special emphasis on hands-on environmental work. Participants collected litter from designated areas, tidied up the grounds, and sorted the collected waste. In this way, environmental knowledge was reinforced through concrete actions aimed at improving the local area.
"We wanted to show the young people that environmental responsibility begins with the individual. That is why we combined knowledge, gaming elements, and practical work in this quest," noted G. B. Kabdenova, a representative of the Youth Resource Center.
According to the organizers, this format makes environmental topics more accessible and engaging for young people. Participants not only expanded their knowledge but also witnessed the tangible results of their collaborative efforts.
The environmental quest also served as an opportunity to instill beneficial daily habits in young people, such as not leaving litter behind, maintaining cleanliness, sorting waste correctly, and treating public spaces with care. Holding such events as part of the "Taza Qazaqstan" initiative fosters an environmental culture and engages young people in nature conservation and socially beneficial activities.
An environmental quest in the Fedorovsky District demonstrated that environmental education can combine educational, game-based, and practical formats, transforming concern for the environment into concrete collective action.
