Inflation in Kazakhstan continues to slow steadily.
At the end of September 2026, annual inflation slowed to 9.3%, down 0.5 percentage points compared to August.
Price growth for the month was 0.6%.
The slowdown in food price growth continues to be the main contributor to the slowdown in inflation.
In September, food prices fell by 0.1% month-on-month. This marks the second month of deflation.
As a result, annual food inflation slowed to 8.5% (from 9.5% in August).
Thanks to measures taken by the government and local authorities to control price increases for socially important food products, the annual price increase for non-food products was 1.8%.
The price situation for non-food products and paid services remains stable.
Non-food inflation slowed to 11% year-on-year. Price growth for paid services remained at 8.9%.
Amid a slowdown in inflation in the second quarter of 2026, real incomes increased by 0.7%.
A further decline in inflation will help reduce the pressure of rising prices on household incomes.
It is worth noting that curbing inflation is one of the Government's efforts to improve the well-being of the population. Along with price stabilization, the Plan includes measures to increase wages, including a gradual increase in the minimum wage, the creation of high-quality jobs, increased productivity, support for entrepreneurship, and the development of high-value-added industries.
