Today, a regular meeting chaired by District Akim Zhandos Yerkinbek was held, during which, in accordance with the agenda, the progress of the harvest campaign and preparations for the heating season were discussed.
This year, crops have been planted across a total area of 25,475 hectares in the district, including 11,449 hectares of rice. Rice harvesting began in early September, and 9,114 hectares have been harvested to date. With an average yield of 42.2 centners per hectare, 28,185 tonnes of grain have been delivered to storage facilities.
In this regard, the District Akim emphasized:
“The key task now is to harvest the crops cultivated by farmers throughout the summer in a timely manner and without losses, without allowing the harvest to be affected by rainfall. It is also necessary to strictly monitor compliance with safety measures during harvesting and transportation operations,” he said, emphasizing the importance of harvesting the grain on time and without losses.
The meeting also addressed the diversification of crops and increasing the area planted with crops that require less water. As a result of the work carried out in the district, grain corn has been planted on 733 hectares this year. Zhandos Yerkinbek also clarified the expected harvest volume and the situation regarding the provision of farms with the necessary agricultural machinery.
It was also noted that farms need to be fully provided with design and cost-estimate documentation for projects involving the concreting of 12 canals with a total length of 88.5 kilometres. Alongside harvesting operations, the need to ensure timely preparation of livestock feed was also emphasized. Relevant officials were instructed to address these issues in advance.
As an additional agenda item, preparations for the heating season were considered. At present, facilities in the sports and healthcare sectors have fully obtained their readiness certificates.
“Preparation for the heating season is an important issue that must remain under constant attention. It is necessary to accelerate the work and complete all required measures within the established deadlines,” the District Akim said.
At the end of the meeting, a number of assignments were given to the responsible officials on the issues considered, with instructions to keep their implementation under constant control.
