The Prosecutor's Office of the East Kazakhstan region continues to implement the "STOP drug!" project aimed at involving the public in the fight against illicit drug trafficking.
As part of the project, the "Clean Streets" mobile application operates for operational interaction with citizens, allowing residents of the region, including anonymously, to report on the facts of advertising prohibited substances and receive a monetary reward for confirmed information.
Since the beginning of the year, 590 drug advertising and QR codes have been identified and eliminated in the region with the help of concerned citizens, and 5 criminal cases have been initiated under article 299-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the same time, the Prosecutor's Office, together with the Youth Resource Center, conducts preventive raids on an ongoing basis with the participation of students and volunteers, during which dozens of dangerous inscriptions are painted over together.
The Prosecutor's Office of the East Kazakhstan region urges citizens to immediately transmit information about any drug advertising found through the "Clean Streets" application or report it to law enforcement agencies.
