By decree of the Head of State, Major General Aidos Sakenovich Myrzakhmetov has been appointed Minister of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Aidos Myrzakhmetov is a career military officer who has devoted more than two decades to military service.
He was born on August 12, 1981, in the Zhambyl District of Almaty Region.
In 2002, he graduated with honors from the Military Academy of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In subsequent years, he completed a number of operational and command training courses within the national security and state security systems.
Aidos Myrzakhmetov progressed through all stages of officer service in the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan, successively holding command and senior leadership positions.
In January 2024, he was appointed Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2025, he graduated from the National Defense University.
He was awarded the Order of «Aibyn», 2nd Class, in 2022.
He is married and has three children.
