Since the beginning of the year, Kazakhstanis have received more than 200,000 one-time payments in connection with the birth of a child
The arrival of a baby in a family brings many happy moments, along with an important step — applying for the benefits that parents are entitled to.
Parents can receive the childbirth allowance through the State Corporation “Government for Citizens.” During the first eight months of this year, more than 200,000 families have already received the one-time payment following the birth of a child.
There is no need to apply in person, as the service is also available proactively. After the child’s birth is registered, the parent receives an SMS notification. All they need to do is confirm their consent to receive the service and provide a bank account number — the allowance will then be assigned automatically.
The largest number of payments has been made in the southern regions and cities of national significance. The Turkistan Region is the clear leader in the number of allowances issued, with more than 28,000 families receiving payments. Almaty ranks second, with more than 19,000 payments, while Astana rounds out the top three, with more than 17,000 families receiving government support.
The amount of the one-time financial assistance depends on the birth order of the child. In 2026, the payment for the birth of a first, second, or third child is 164,350 tenge, while for the fourth and subsequent children it is 272,475 tenge.
It is also important to keep the application deadline in mind. Documents must be submitted within 18 months from the child’s date of birth. After this period expires, the right to receive the payment is lost.
The allowance can be applied for at branches of the State Corporation “Government for Citizens.” The processing time is up to 7 business days. Applications submitted through the e-government portal or second-tier banking applications are processed within 4 business days.
