On August 23, 2026, a literary and cultural evening dedicated to the works of Abai, Saadi and Hafez was held in Bandar Abbas, Iran, jointly organized by the Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Bandar Abbas and the Governorate of Hormozgan Province.
The event was attended and addressed by M.Nazari, Deputy Governor of Hormozgan Province for International Affairs; F.Jalali, Director General of the Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance; S.Asadi, an official of the representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran; Dr. A.Nowruzi, Professor of Hormozgan University and literary scholar; representatives and members of the Society of Poets and the Society for the Blind; as well as other members of the intellectual and cultural community.
Dr. A.Nowruzi delivered a presentation in which he provided an extensive analysis of the continuity and interconnection between the literary legacy of Abai Kunanbaiuly and that of the great Persian poets.
During the evening, participants recited by heart poems by Abai, Saadi, Khayyam and other poets.
At the conclusion of the event, Ayagoz Nursultan, an Honored Cultural Worker of Kazakhstan and winner of an international kuy (a musical genre performed on the dombra and other traditional string instruments) performance competition, performed traditional kuy compositions by Abai, Kurmangazy, Sugir, T. Mombekov and S. Turysbekov, giving a concert for the audience.
