Starting from September 1, 2026, the requirement for mandatory digital labeling of beer and beer drinks bottled in glass containers comes into force in Kazakhstan. All products manufactured in the country or imported from outside starting from this date are subject to mandatory labeling with the Data Matrix code. Step -by- step introduction of labeling of beer and beer drinks: starting from February 1 , 2026 – products in kegs; Starting from September 1 , 2026 – products in glass bottles; Starting from January 1, 2027 – products in tin cans . The introduction of digital labeling will ensure end –to-end traceability of goods along the entire chain - from the manufacturer or importer to the retail buyer, and also guarantees electronic registration and confirmation of documents when transferring products between turnover participants.
