    Work on naming and renaming is carried out on the basis of article 25-5 of the law "on languages in the Republic of Kazakhstan" (criteria for onomastic work).

    The competence and activities of representative and Executive bodies on issues of onomastics are defined in the relevant articles of the law "on languages in the Republic of Kazakhstan" and the Law "on the administrative and territorial structure of the Republic of Kazakhstan".

    The order taking into account the views of the population if you change the name of settlements, and their parts is regulated by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan of February 24, 2014 No. 138, order of the renaming of the institution by the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan from March 5, 1996 No. 281.
