How can a migrant worker apply for a work permit renewal?

In accordance with the "Rules for Issuing, Extending, and Revoking Permits for Labor Immigrants," approved by Order No. 123 of the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 15, 2022, an application for the extension of a permit must be submitted no earlier than 30 (thirty) calendar days and no later than 5 (five) calendar days prior to the expiration of the current permit.

To obtain the public service, the labor immigrant, jointly with the individual employer, submits documents in accordance with the List of Basic Requirements for the Provision of the Public Service.

An application for the issuance and renewal of a permit may be submitted:

• at the "Government for Citizens" State Corporation NJSC;
• via the "Electronic Government" web portal;
• via the migration.enbek.kz portal.

List of required documents:

1) an application for the extension of the labor immigrant permit, signed by the employer and the foreign national;

2) receipts for the advance payment of individual income tax in accordance with the tax legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

3) a notarized copy of the passport bearing the stamp(s) indicating the crossing of the State border of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the last 12 months;

4) mandatory medical insurance;

5) an employment contract with an employer in the Republic of Kazakhstan, concluded between the employer and the service recipient.

The timeframe for the provision of the state service is two working days, excluding the day the application is submitted.
