    Rules for Safe Behavior on Water

    Most accidents on water bodies occur due to people's carelessness, overestimation of their own abilities, failure to follow safety rules, and neglect of basic precautions.

    To prevent accidents, the following rules must be observed:

    • do not enter the water or swim while under the influence of alcohol or other substances;
    • do not jump into the water from boats, motorboats, piers, bridges or other structures not intended for this purpose;
    • do not dive in unfamiliar, unequipped or unverified areas;
    • do not swim beyond designated swimming areas and safety markers;
    • do not use random objects or devices that are not intended for swimming;
    • do not climb onto buoys, technical structures or warning signs;
    • children are allowed to be in the water only under adult supervision.

    Before swimming, it is necessary to learn about the characteristics of the water body and choose only specially equipped recreation areas. The bottom may contain dangerous objects such as stones, branches, metal structures, broken glass and other obstacles that can cause injuries.

    Special caution should be exercised near motorboats, boats and other watercraft. Approaching them may be dangerous due to strong currents, engine operation and the risk of a person being pulled under the vessel’s hull.

    Remember: safety on the water depends primarily on the attentiveness, responsibility and compliance with established safety rules by every individual.
