Independence Day of Kazakhstan is the main national holiday of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This date is celebrated in Kazakhstan annually on December 16.

After the collapse of the USSR, the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic became the last of the union in the post-Soviet space to proclaim its state sovereignty.
