On November 14-15, 2024, the annual International scientific and practical conference «The Russian Museum is а digital guide to artistic Russia» was held at the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg. The conference was held as part of the project «Russian Museum: Virtual Branch». Head of the information and educational department of the museum-reserve Karibaeva Sh.M. took part with a report «Experience of the EKR ethnographic museum-reserve and inter-museum cooperation within the framework of the project «Russian Museum: Virtual Branch».
Employees and partners of the virtual branches of the Russian Museum in Russia and abroad, as well as representatives of cultural institutions, education, medical, rehabilitation and spiritual and educational centers interested in popularizing art and culture by means of digital technologies were invited to participate in the conference.
The main areas of the conference were:
– organizing and holding educational and outreach events using the digital resources of the Russian Museum: new forms and formats of work;
– creating digital resources for studying and popularizing art collections and exhibition activities of museums (AR/VR projects, 3D, video and multimedia, games, applications, websites);
– organizing and holding multimedia exhibitions.
A separate block within the conference was the International Conference «Cultural Heritage Object in the Light of the Projector», which presented the experience of using innovative lighting and projection equipment and specialized multimedia content in the current cultural activities of Russian and foreign cultural institutions.
