Educational grant for the 2026–2027 academic year (grant from the akim)
To ensure access to higher education for school graduates in the Almaty Region and to train qualified specialists for the region’s economy, 35 educational grants from the Almaty Region akim are provided for the 2026–2027 academic year, funded from the local budget, including:
* 17 educational grants for internship studies;
• 18 educational grants for bachelor’s degree programs.
Grants for bachelor’s degree programs
Out of the total number of 35 educational grants, 18 grants are allocated for bachelor’s degree programs..
The submission of documents to participate in the competition for educational grants for bachelor’s degree programs will be held from August 17 to August 19, 2026, at the SDU University admissions office located at: Almaty Region, Karasay District, Kaskelen City, Abylai Khan Street, 1/1. Document submission is carried out in two areas:
1. Competition among socially vulnerable categories of citizens — 13 grants.
2. General competition — 5 grants.
Distribution of 18 grants among universities:
• S. D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University — 3 grants for socially vulnerable categories of citizens and 2 grants through a general competition;
• Kazakh National Agrarian Research University — 2 grants for socially vulnerable categories of citizens and 1 grant through a general competition;
• SDU University — 8 grants for socially vulnerable categories of citizens and 2 grants through a general competition.
